I love trying a different brand of foods in different countries, does anyone know the fast food chain of Jollibee? when I tried it in Hong Kong the taste of chicken is different :p when I tried eating at McDonald's the taste of their burger meal is different too. but I never get disappoint because knowing that different countries has always a different taste :)

Lori, you are right! But in most countries the ingredients are either listed or you can always ask the waiter. But yes, double check to make sure you're safe.

or you could do a little research on local cuisine before actually going there :)

You may as well have pleasant surprises - when trying a brand you know and love in different countries ;).

Regarding specific dishes of a country I'd like to add an advice: check what you eat before you order. You might think you want to try some dishes - to taste something local - but if you don't check the ingredients you may end up being disappointed.

I try to plunge into everything local when I'm traveling. And you are right about the local-influenced additions to traditional chain menu! Most of the times they are really good!

When I travel I like to try plates specific to the country I'm visiting. I try fast-food chains only if they have things that I cannot find in other countries like McTurk in Turkish McDonald's.
